The New Pyramid iCOR Putter
Original “Self-Correcting” Putter Now Gives You Superior Distance Control, Forgiveness and Feel
“As soon as you hit the ball, you realize there’s something magical going on.”
– Scott Kerbaugh, test golfer
Featured In:
They came carrying putters from all the big brands.
Odyssey. Ping. Scotty Cameron. Taylor Made.
Some were quite happy with their flat-sticks, including one who hadn’t changed putters in 18 years and another proudly holding a 43-year-old classic.
Others were wide open to something different – anything to change their fortunes on the greens.
Yet all of them left with one thing in common:
Absolute amazement with a new putter they had never seen…
… Let alone used.
“As soon as you hit the ball you realize there’s something magical going on,” marveled Scott Kerbaugh, a 20 handicapper who’d been “gaming” the same TaylorMade putter for about eight years.
“This definitely is going in my bag, and the other one is going on the bench,” said 16 handicap Jihan Cottrell, whose “other one” was a TaylorMade he’s wielded for the past five years.
Michael Croft, a 12 handicap, put his feelings in the simplest terms:
“I’m in love with this putter.”
So in love that his trusty Odyssey appeared headed for the recycling bin.
These three golfers, and seven others, were in the lucky group gathered to test a new putter against their own.
And what was it that led them to make an often-difficult putter switch... after a single short practice session?
That’s simple: Great results. They just performed better with the new putter than they did with their own.
I’ll share some specifics in a moment.
First, a brief introduction.
I’m Blair O’Neal, frequent TV host and former professional golfer.
The putter I’m about to show you is actually Version 2.0 of a revolutionary club that came out in 2018.
That was the Pyramid Putter, whose groundbreaking “Limited Dispersion Grooves” gently guide miss-hit putts back toward the cup.
The original Pyramid Putter has helped tens of thousands of amateur golfers cut down their three-putts, hole out more often from all over the green and markedly lower their scores.
No matter how good a product is, though, it can always be improved.
And that’s exactly what Matt Stephens, designer of the Pyramid Putter, set out to do.
He wasn’t looking to reinvent the wheel, of course.
The original Pyramid’s putt-correcting grooves weren’t going anywhere.
Neither was its brilliant alignment guide, which gets both the putter face and your eyes set up right on the money.
Thanks to these two features, the Pyramid Putter was prized for its deadly accuracy.
So what could be improved?
With an assist from highly regarded club designer Josh Boggs, winner of multiple Golf Digest “Hot List” Awards, Stephens identified three key areas:
1Distance control
2Stability
3Feel & sound
Then they put their heads together and came up with ways to perfect the Pyramid Putter in those departments – without sacrificing its line-hugging precision.
The final product is the putter that generated such a buzz among the test group, earning comments like…
“Extraordinary,” “phenomenal” and “un-(bleeping)-believable.”
I’m thrilled to introduce:
The NEW NEXT GEN Pyramid iCOR Putter
I have to be honest: I didn’t think it was possible to improve on the original Pyramid.
I’m happy to admit, I was wrong.
Watching the testing session, it was obvious the iCOR was even better than its legendary predecessor.
Here’s how it worked:
The 10 amateur golfers, whose handicaps ranged from 7 to 20, hit three putts each from three distances – 10 feet, 20 feet and 30 feet – with the Pyramid iCOR and with their own putter.
Remember, the competition was a “who’s who” of putter brands – including some that cost several hundred dollars.
Plus, the golfers were quite familiar with their own clubs – in most cases, they’d used the same putter for many years.
All things considered, the deck was pretty much stacked against the Pyramid iCOR.
And yet, to everyone’s surprise:
The Pyramid iCOR was better from every single distance.
Yep. Every… single… distance.
Not only did the group post more than twice as many one-putts with the iCOR (9 makes vs. 4 with their own putters), their average distance from the hole was 35% closer using the Pyramid.
Afterward, they gushed about the putter they’d just tried for the first time.
“This new Pyramid iCOR is a very forgiving, very good putter,” said Joe Epps, a 19 handicapper who made all three of his attempts from 10 feet with the iCOR. “This is the putter I want to take home and win money with, beat my friend.”
Here’s more praise from our testers:
“The only putter that I’ve ever picked up the first time and fell in love with it and said, ‘This is going to the green,’ was this morning with the Pyramid iCOR Putter.”
– Martin Cowley, 19 handicap
“I hit a couple off the toe and I was shocked with their technology that the ball still came back and was within 6 inches of the hole. Whereas my old putter, if I do that I’m gonna be a foot-and-a-half to the right and probably short.”
– Mike Webster, 7 handicap
“The first two putts that I hit (with the Pyramid iCOR) actually went in, so I thought I was getting lucky. Then the next ones I miss-hit a little bit and they started to go back toward the hole. Then I thought, OK, something’s going on here. That’s when I found out a little bit about the technology.”
– Scott Kerbaugh, 20 handicap
“I’ve tried a variety of putters, I buy all the big-name brands, and it’s never really helped my game. I’m telling you right now, take my word for it – this putter will help your game.”
– Michael Croft, 12 handicap
“With the Pyramid iCOR I really felt like I could line it up with the line, and then really hit it close. I felt confident that I could get it closer to the hole.”
– Vicki Levi, 14 handicap
Clearly, the new Pyramid iCOR Putter is a winner, earning high marks for its:
-
Uncanny accuracy, even on miss-hits
-
Superior distance control on putts of varying lengths
-
Ease of use in lining up with the target
-
Exquisite feel off the face
-
Appealing look in both blade and mallet models
Of course, there are lots of excellent putters out there.
What pushes the iCOR’s performance past even the most heralded flat-sticks money can buy?
Five unique features, which we’ll dive into now.
Feature 1: Precision Milled Gear Effect Grooved Insert
A face insert, made from aircraft-grade aluminum, with three sets of grooves: One running horizontally across the center, one angled diagonally toward the toe and one angled diagonally toward the heel.
What It Does
In short, these grooves make the Pyramid Putter unlike any other by literally correcting your miss-hits.
If you strike the toe of a standard putter, the blade opens ever so slightly and causes a push. Hit the heel and the blade closes, causing a pull.
The Pyramid iCOR solves this common problem.
The angled grooves impart a small but significant amount of correcting sidespin on off-center strikes.
And when you do hit the sweet spot, the horizontal grooves give the ball topspin – so there’s no skidding or bouncing as it tracks the hole.
The consistent roll means you’ll come up short far less often, and your long-range speed control will improve, too.
What Golfers Say
“I believe that the putter face on the iCOR does allow me to get a more consistent roll, and it does seem to bring it in closer to the hole when I don’t hit it exactly square.”
– Joe Epps, 19 handicap
“The Pyramid iCOR Putter does self-correct. It’s very forgiving. It allows you to just focus on (making) a good swing, rather than trying to control the putter.”
– Martin Cowley, 19 handicap
“I was amazed at how on the pushes or pulls it was kind of right where I would have hit a straight putt if I was aiming there. It’s almost like it’s self-correcting. It was almost shocking.”
– Greg Battisti, 14 handicap
“One of my shots I hit today was off the toe and I looked up and I’m like, ‘It’s almost right at the hole. How can that be?’ Well, that technology brought it back on line for me, which my old putter wouldn’t do.”
– Mike Webster, 7 handicap
“With the Pyramid iCOR I did have a couple miss-hits, and I have to say that I was amazed where I ended up. Because usually in that situation I will be three-putting or having a chance to. I knew that I blew it. But when I looked up, it was tracking back to the hole and I had maybe a foot left for a gimme.”
– Jihan Cottrell, 16 handicap
Feature 2: iCOR Speed Correcting Insert
What It Is
Proprietary material added to the heel and toe cavities behind the iCOR alunimum insert.
What It Does
Having corrected directional mistakes with the Gear Effect Grooves, our next task was to help golfers overcome the other big problem caused by miss-hits:
A loss of distance.
We did it by injecting a new-age compound into the Pyramid iCOR’s clubhead, concentrating on the heel and toe areas behind the insert.
The compound flexes on impact, raising the Coefficient of Restitution (COR) across the putter’s face – and a higher COR means less energy loss on miss-hits.
Put another way: The Pyramid iCOR’s insert is one gigantic sweet spot.
What’s more, the added weight surrounding the center boosts the Pyramid iCOR’s Moment of Inertia (MOI), so it’s more stable on poorly struck putts.
In fact, the iCOR’s MOI is about 20% higher than the original Pyramid’s.
All of which means you can miss the dead center – by a fair margin – and your putt will lose little if any distance.
Let’s dig a little deeper into the science, and the painstaking process of picking the perfect material:
With the putter (as with any club), the sweet spot is the area where maximum energy is transferred from the club to the ball. By striking it, you achieve max distance for whatever speed the club is traveling.
Miss the sweet spot toward the toe or heel and energy is lost.
Hence, even a small miss-hit can cause a putt to come up short. And the bigger the miss-hit, the more energy (distance) you lose.
Then there’s this: The longer the putt, the longer your stroke… and the more likely you are to miss the sweet spot.
Even worse, your miscues tend to be farther from center on a longer stroke.
That’s one reason putts from 25 feet or more often come up way short.
And that’s the issue we set out to solve.
The key was to find a material that would:
-
Deliver the best rebound (energy transfer) on off-center hits…
-
Provide the ideal amount of weight so the Pyramid iCOR Putter wasn’t too heavy or light, AND...
-
Offer a pleasing sound and feel on impact… because nobody likes a harsh, clangy putter.
As you might expect, there was plenty of trial and error.
In testing various compounds, we found that some worked great at negating distance loss on misses...
But created an off-putting sound or feel.
Others sounded and felt terrific on impact...
But provided minimal help on heel and toe strikes.
Still others delivered the distance correction we wanted...
AND the pleasing sensation all golfers crave...
BUT… They made the iCOR Putter so heavy, it may as well have been a sledgehammer.
It was frustrating, to say the least.
We kept our noses to the grindstone, though...
Until finally...
We found our “Goldilocks” material.
It gave the Pyramid iCOR the perfect weight.
With exquisite sound and feel.
Most importantly, it made distance control nearly automatic.
On all lengths of putts.
Even on the worst miss-hits.
We call this material “Speed Correcting Compound” – because it ensures that your off-center strikes will roll almost as far as your solid ones.
By “almost as far,” we mean within inches… if not fractions of an inch.
Combine the Pyramid iCOR’s Speed Correcting Compound with its Gear Effect Grooves and you get a putter with unmatched directional accuracy and distance control.
What Golfers Say
“The Pyramid iCOR, to me the ball came off the putter face nice and smooth. It seemed like a softer hit rather than a more metal feel. I believe that the putter face on the iCOR does allow me to get a more consistent roll.”
– Joe Epps, 19 handicap
“The iCOR insert has such a great feel to it. As soon as you hit the ball, you know it’s coming off straight and you know it’s gonna have a true roll to it.”
– Martin Cowley, 19 handicap
“It feels like the old days of putting a balata ball, where it just comes off so soft and nice. I was truly impressed with the way it came off there.”
– Greg Battisti, 14 handicap
“Feel is everything. When I picked up the iCOR, the first ball, I felt way more feel than I did in any putter I’ve ever had. The feel and the speed I have on this, I felt a lot more in control and a lot more confident. It seemed like the hole was getting bigger for me.”
– Michael Croft, 12 handicap
“The new Pyramid Putter rolls the ball well. It really gives you good feedback.”
– Vicki Levi, 14 handicap
Feature 3: Stability Weighting
The Pyramid iCOR putter weighs 395 grams, about 50 grams more than average.
What It Does
A couple of things, actually.
1 A heavier head keeps your “small muscles” (fingers, hands, wrists) from controlling the putter while engaging the arms and shoulders – exactly what you need for a sound, repeatable pendulum-type stroke.
If you tend to get “handsy” on the greens – especially over 3- to 5-foot knee-knockers – this extra weight could cure your yips, just like that.
2 More weight in the head creates a steadier, smoother stroke path. And the head is less likely to twist off-line on a miss-hit.
Paired with the iCOR’s auto-correcting grooves, its Stability Weighting keeps even your poorest putts headed toward the hole.
What Golfers Say
“The iCOR has the heavier feel in it, so I believe I don’t have to hit the ball hard to go the distance I want it to go. So that was very good.”
– Epps
“I like a heavy putter, and the weight of the Pyramid iCOR Putter was perfect. The Pyramid has tremendous speed control. Even in the first nine putts, I had no idea what the speed of the green was. I just took a guess and hit it, and the iCOR putter just laid it right out towards the hole.”
– Cowley
“I love the weight of the putter. It helped keep my hands quiet. I like a little bit more heaviness to it so it feels smoother. The ball rolling off the face actually felt a little bit more natural, even when I had some miss-hits.”
– Cottrell
Feature 4: Eye-Line Milled Alignment Guide
A series of grooves in the form of a pyramid on the putter’s top line, plus a single line in the putter’s cavity.
What It Does
Most putters have an aiming guide that helps you line up the blade with your target.
The Pyramid iCOR features just such a line – but goes a step farther by helping you set up with your eyes directly over the ball.
That’s a huge key to stroking putts right where you want them.
Any teacher will tell you that if you get your eyes too far inside the ball, you’re likely to push the putt. Too far outside and you’re looking at a pull.
Get your eyes directly on top of the ball, though, and you greatly increase your chances of holing out. As you can see in this graphic, that’s exactly what the Pyramid helps you do.
A Eyes inside target line, miss to the right.
B Perfect Putting Position – Eyes Over the Ball.
C Eyes outside target line, miss to the left.
The Pyramid iCOR’s alignment guide offers one more benefit:
It helps you match the ball precisely with the sweet spot, enhancing your accuracy and distance control.
With your eyes over the ball, you can easily tell if it’s directly aligned with the center of the face.
What Golfers Say
“This automatically lines up your putter… to where all the teachers say you’re supposed to be. Right over the ball.”
– Cowely
“I like the alignment (guide). It sure makes a difference when you’re lining up your putts. It gives you a little more confidence to know that you’re on line.”
– Battisti
“The eye-line milling helps you set up over the ball and it gives you that comfort that when you’re in the bottom of your swing, you’re hitting it right in the sweet spot.”
– Cottrell
“With the new Pyramid iCOR, I can look at that line-up, look at the hole, look back, hit it, and I feel confident that I’m gonna get it really close or in.”
– Vicki Levi
Feature 5: No-Taper Grip with Silicone Texture
The Pyramid Putter’s grip is uniform in diameter from top to bottom, with a proprietary silicone surface texture.
What It Does
The iCOR’s grip, which is larger than standard, promotes light yet steady hand pressure while limiting wrist movement. Like the heavier head, this puts the arms and shoulders in command.
Result: A smooth, consistent pendulum stroke – just like the pros.
What Golfers Say
“The grip really allows you to have soft hands, which is what I struggle with all the time with my current putter.”
– Cowely
“I’m one that’s kind of picky about grips, and I normally change grips on putters, but I will definitely use this grip on this putter. It feels like it’s balanced and made for this putter, for sure.”
– Battisti
“The grip is very nice. You know where your hands are on the grip, it’s soft and it feels really good.”
– Vicki Levi
"I love the grip! It felt really good in my hands. I love the alignment tool on top of the Pyramid Putter. It shows me if I'm too low or too high. It gives me real confidence that the line that I'm aiming to is correct. It's easier to make a stroke when you are properly aligned. Whether I hit it on the toe, the heel or in the middle, all the putts went the same distance. It just feels solid."
– Tim Case, 1.4 handicap

FAQ
Q Should I order a Blade or Mallet?
- The balde model has a very traditional look with 20 degrees of toe hang. The blade is a great option for golfers who have a slight arc to their putting stroke.
- The mallet model has more of a modern look with 5 degrees of toe hang. The mallet works well for golfers who have both a slight arc and a straight back, straight through stroke.
- The best piece of advice we can give you is to pick the model that suits your eye. Our putters are packed with the latest technology to help you play better golf. If you like the way the putter looks you will be more confident on the green and will ultimately hole more putts.
Q What length putter should I order?
Height | Putter Length |
---|---|
5'3" and shorter | 33" |
5'4" - 5'10" | 34" |

Q How and why does the Pyramid iCOR putter work?
- The iCOR features patented gear effect technology in the design of the grooves that literally self corrects mis-hits toward the target:
- The aircraft-grade aluminum insert, with three sets of grooves are designed so the horizontal grooves (the sweet spot) give the ball top spin so there is no skidding or bouncing and consistency to help with long range speed control while the diagonal grooves impart a gear effect on off-center strikes that help direct mis-hits to center.
- The iCOR speed correcting compound and patent-pending cavity design of the putter face raises the coefficient of restitution across the putter, effectively boosting the velocity on mis-hits.
- A higher COR means less energy loss. In other words, the Pyramid iCOR’s insert is a gigantic sweet spot. Your off-center strikes will roll almost as far as your solid putts, meaning within inches if not fractions of an inch.
Pyramid Putter Owners Speak Out
"I bought one last week. Four rounds in I believe this putter has made a big difference in my game."
– Jayme Baker
“Definitely impressed. First time (using the Pyramid) today, only a dozen practice putts and only had 25 putts… lag putts were awesome… feels great even when I didn't think I hit good. Finally broke par on a regular course I've been playing on for 20 years, putter definitely had a lot to do with it! Thanks Pyramid.”
– Curtis Jp Larraux
"Just got one. Am a 12 handicap and shot a 77. Missed one 3 – 5-footer because of speed. All were on line. So far so good!!!!"
– Del Blankenhagen
"I have been a good putter all my life, (making) 9 out of 10 3-footers, probably half the 6-footers and once in a while or better yet: 1 out of 10 12-footers. Never anything over 15 feet. The reason I bought the Pyramid was that I was starting to miss some of the 3’s and almost all the sixes and anything over that – forget it!
"The moment I got the Pyramid I started making everything! I had a club match 3 days after its arrival and sunk three 20 – 25 (foot) putts and everything inside of 15 feet. The opponent was so angry that after I closed him out all he could complain about was how I didn’t miss a putt!
"All I do is I'd aim the center of the club at the center of the hole: if it’s up or downhill, the gear effect takes over and BANG! all they do is disappear.”
– Larry Blevins
